Reunited CHANGER To Release 'Darkling' In September
August 26, 2010Icelandic extreme metal band CHANGER will release a new album, "Darkling", in early September. The CD contains eight crushing new songs, a new version of the track "Feelings: Deleted" from the "Inconsistency" EP (2001),and a cover version that the group is keeping a secret for the time being.
CHANGER's founder and drummer Kristjan B. Heidarsson put CHANGER back together in late 2008 with a new lineup after the band had unexpectedly split up at the end of 2007. Joining Kristjan are vocalist Haraldur Anton Skulason (ex-MUNNRIDUR, ex-DENVER),bassist Arnar M. Ellertsson (ex-PALMPRINT IN BLOOD, MOLDUN),Polish guitarist Rob-D (ex-ABUSED MAJESTY, CINIS),and returning guitarist Hordur Halldorsson (formerly known as Hudson).
CHANGER has been busy these last two years, playing gigs in Iceland and England, in addition to writing and recording.
Commented the band: "It should be noted that 'Darkling' is not the death metal album that was intended for recording and release in 2008. We have returned to our thrash metal roots, and added a whole new bunch of twists that are sure to make many people's heads turn."
"Darkling" was recorded by Silli Geirdal and Jakob Thor Gudmundsson, mixed by Birgir Orn Arnason, and mastered by Slawek and Wojtek Wieslawski at Hertz Studio in Poland.
"Darkling" track listing:
01. Four
02. Too Many Scars
03. Keepers Of The Lies
04. Affliction (ballad)
05. Avoid The Winds
06. Misanthropy
07. [surprise cover song]
08. Feelings: Deleted
09. The Darkling (instrumental)
10. Reality: The End
CHANGER will tour Iceland in September in support of the album and is planning a short European tour in November.
